- The Computer Technology
Integration (CTI) Center mission addresses the University
mission and the President’s vision of Langston University in the
following statement.
-
- Langston
University is committed to provide a more innovative teaching
and learning environment and the necessary training, resources
and skill development opportunities for faculty in order to keep
them on the cutting edge of technological and curricular trends.
To meet these challenges of an ever-changing educational system
and meet the Vision of Langston University’s president of
“Digital Divide” and the mission of Langston University, the
Computer Technology Integration (CTI) Center is providing access
to appropriate hardware and software, numerous integration
activities including: workshops, distance learning activities,
video production and digitizing, on line course design and
technology support, individualized training, hands-on workshops
and seminars to faculty and staff. Faculty and staff have the
support, technical expertise and training of the CTI team in a
facility equipped with necessary technology to offer seminars
and necessary hands-on workshops so that they can create on line
courses, integrate multimedia technology into existing courses,
develop their course content for the web, and test and evaluate
new software for their class use. The skills our faculty and
staff mastered provide the opportunity for students to meet the
needs of a global market and be able to work in a technology
environment prepared for the 21st century.

Mission Statement
- The mission of Langston
University is to provide excellent postsecondary education to
individuals seeking knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will
enhance the human condition and promote a world that is
peaceful, intellectual, technologically advanced, and one that
fulfills the needs of nations and individuals alike. Langston
University strives to educate individuals to become the leaders
of tomorrow within their local, national, and global
communities. A reflection on the Langston University history as
a land grand institution established in 1890 “to instruct both
male and female Colored persons,” the mission of the university
continues to be in the education of African-Amer4icans in the
arts, sciences, humanities, business, agriculture secondary
education leading to associate, baccalaureate, masters and
doctoral degree programs. As a university with an urban mission
in a rural setting, Langston University has the challenge of
educating individuals who will serve their communities in urban
centers as well as rural communities. To fulfill the mission,
Langston University actively recruits faculty and student who
support and complement the purpose and functions of the
university.
