CTI Mission:
The Computer Technology Integration (CTI) Center mission addresses the University mission and the President’s vision of Langston University in the following statement.
 
Langston University is committed to provide a more innovative teaching and learning environment and the necessary training, resources and skill development opportunities for faculty in order to keep them on the cutting edge of technological and curricular trends. To meet these challenges of an ever-changing educational system and meet the Vision of  Langston University’s president of “Digital Divide” and the mission of Langston University, the Computer Technology Integration (CTI) Center is providing access to appropriate hardware and software, numerous integration activities including: workshops, distance learning activities, video production and digitizing, on line course design and technology support, individualized training, hands-on workshops and seminars to faculty and staff.  Faculty and staff have the support, technical expertise and training of the CTI team in a facility equipped with necessary technology to offer seminars and necessary hands-on workshops so that they can create on line courses, integrate multimedia technology into existing courses, develop their course content for the web, and test and evaluate new software for their class use. The skills our faculty and staff mastered provide the opportunity for students to meet the needs of a global market and be able to work in a technology environment prepared for the 21st century.

Living in the information age, Langston University accepts the challenge to close the digital divide and upgrade technology.  Our vision includes the use of wireless and state-of-the-art technology for teaching, learning, research, and outreach programs.  Web based and distance education will service non-traditional students who seek alternative methods for advanced education outside of the conventional classroom setting.  Students will have the opportunity to learn on our campuses or from locations around the world through the innovative use of technology.
 
Langston University Mission Statement
The mission of Langston University is to provide excellent postsecondary education to individuals seeking knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will enhance the human condition and promote a world that is peaceful, intellectual, technologically advanced, and one that fulfills the needs of nations and individuals alike.  Langston University strives to educate individuals to become the leaders of tomorrow within their local, national, and global communities.  A reflection on the Langston University history as a land grand institution established in 1890 “to instruct both male and female Colored persons,” the mission of the university continues to be in the education of African-Amer4icans in the arts, sciences, humanities, business, agriculture secondary education leading to associate, baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degree programs.  As a university with an urban mission in a rural setting, Langston University has the challenge of educating individuals who will serve their communities in urban centers as well as rural communities.  To fulfill the mission, Langston University actively recruits faculty and student who support and complement the purpose and functions of the university.
