- Where do I get a library
card?
Your Langston University ID is your library
card. As soon as you are enrolled, you may check out
books from the Libraries. Faculty and staff may also
check out books using their LU ID cards. Members of the
Langston community who are not affiliated with the University
may obtain a Community User card.
- How do I check out books?
You must present your Langston University ID
card in order to check out books. Take the books you
wish to check out to the Circulation Desk at the Library where
a staff person will assist you. You must be
currently enrolled or employed at Langston, or you must have a
current Community User card or OKShare card to be able to
borrow books from the Libraries.
- How many books can I
check out?
There is a limit of 12 volumes at a time for
undergraduates, 15 for graduate students and staff, and 20 for
faculty members. Community card and OKShare card holders
may check out 3 items at a time.
- How long can I keep the
books I have checked out?
The loan period for everyone except faculty
is 2 weeks. The loan period for faculty is one
semester. You are allowed to renew for an additional two
weeks unless the materials have been requested by another
patron.
- Where can I make a
photocopy?
Photocopiers are available at all University
Libraries.
- Does the library carry
magazines?
Yes. All of the University Libraries
carry a selection of popular magazines for leisure reading,
and a collection of scholarly journals for research
purposes. We also have a selection of current newspapers, and
a number of magazines, newspapers and journals on microform.
- Can I check out the
magazines?
No. The magazines and journals do not
circulate. You may make photocopies. A microform
reader/printers is also available.
